Most people land here looking for one hoodie and leave with a plan for three. This is the short version of what’s in each collection and who it suits.
Hoodies
The core of the range. Oversized drop-shoulder pullovers and full-zips in heavyweight fleece, split into men’s and women’s edits and by colour: black, grey and brown.
Sweatpants
Classic tapered track pants and a relaxed straight-leg, cut from the same fleece as the hoodies so a split set still looks like a set. Black, brown, oatmeal, coral and a women’s crimson.
T-Shirts
Heavyweight cotton jersey tees in four cuts: classic logo, boxy, oversized and the 1977 and 90s editions. The base layer under every hoodie from October to April.
Tracksuits
Hoodie and sweatpants sold together, dyed in the same batch. Sixteen sets including pullover, zip and back-logo versions. The one-decision purchase.
Why people in Canada buy from us instead of ordering abroad
The price you see is the price you pay
Everything is listed in Canadian dollars and shipped from inside Canada. Order a hoodie from a US or UK store and the landed cost often jumps 25–40% once duties, brokerage and the exchange rate land on your doorstep. Here the checkout total is final.
Delivery measured in days, not weeks
Orders leave our Canadian warehouse within [1–2] business days and reach Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal, Calgary and most other postal codes in [3–6] business days. Tracking is emailed the moment the parcel is scanned.
Returns that don’t cross a border
Wrong size or changed your mind? You have [30] days from delivery to return or exchange unworn items with tags attached, and the parcel goes to a Canadian address. No international return labels, no waiting on customs twice.
One fabric across the whole range
The hoodie you buy today and the sweatpants you add next month come from the same heavyweight fleece, so they fade together and still read as a set. That’s harder to get right when you buy pieces from three different sellers.
What makes an Essentials hoodie an Essentials hoodie
Strip away the logo and the line is still recognisable from across the street. It comes down to four decisions made on every piece.
| Detail | What it is | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Heavyweight fleece | Dense cotton-blend fleece, brushed inside, smooth face outside | Hangs straight, doesn’t cling, stays opaque in oatmeal and sand |
| Drop shoulder, cropped length | Shoulder seam sits on the bicep; hem lands at the hip | Oversized without looking borrowed; lets the tee or waistband show |
| Rubberised logo | Small, tonal, on the chest or across the back; felt applique on 1977 | Readable up close, invisible from a distance. The opposite of a billboard |
| Muted palette | Black, charcoal, oatmeal, sand, brown, with occasional seafoam or coral | Everything in the wardrobe matches everything else |
Dressing for a Canadian year
Winter, November to March
Hoodie under a puffer or wool overcoat, sweatpants with boots, cuff tucked. Dark heather and black heather hide road salt. The 1977 hoodies run slightly heavier and are the warmest in the range.
Spring and fall
The full set on its own, or a zip-up hoodie open over a tee. This is the window the whole range was designed for and when it gets worn most.
Summer
Tees and shorts through the day, a hoodie for the cottage dock, the patio after nine, and every over-air-conditioned office in the country.
Sizing, in one paragraph
Hoodies and tracksuits are cut oversized: take your usual size for the intended look, one down for a cleaner fit. Tees in the classic and 1977 cuts are true to size; boxy and oversized tees are already roomy, so don’t size up. Sweatpants fit true in the waist thanks to the drawcord, and length is the thing to check if you’re under 5’6″ or over 6’0″. Buying a top and bottom together? Take the same letter size in both. Every category page has a fuller guide.
Looking after fleece
- Cold wash, inside out, similar colours together
- Hang to dry or tumble on low; high heat is what shrinks cuffs and lifts logos
- No fabric softener, it flattens the brushed inside
- Wash a set together so both halves fade at the same rate
- Fold hoodies rather than hanging them; the drop shoulders stretch on a hanger
- Never iron over the lettering
Questions we get most
Do you ship across all of Canada?
Yes. Every province and territory, from a Canadian warehouse, with tracking. Remote postal codes take a few days longer than the major cities.
Are prices in Canadian dollars?
Yes. Everything is listed and charged in CAD. Because the parcel ships domestically, there are no duties, brokerage fees or customs charges on delivery.
Which hoodie should I buy first?
A black or dark heather grey pullover. It goes with every pair of bottoms on the site and under every coat you already own. Add oatmeal or brown second.
Do Essentials hoodies run big?
Yes, deliberately. The cut is oversized with dropped shoulders. Your usual size gives the classic look; one size down gives a closer fit without losing the shape.
Is the tracksuit cheaper than buying the hoodie and pants separately?
Yes. The set is priced below the two pieces bought individually, and you’re guaranteed a colour match from the same dye batch.
How do returns and exchanges work?
You have [30] days from delivery for unworn items with tags on. Message us through the contact page with your order number and we’ll send the Canadian return address and instructions.
Can I get help choosing a size before I order?
Yes. Send your height and the size you normally wear through the contact page and we’ll tell you which size to pick for the fit you want.
