Essentials T-Shirts
The Essentials tee is the piece that gets worn the most and photographed the least. Heavyweight cotton jersey, a ribbed crewneck that doesn’t sag, dropped shoulders, and the logo kept small: chest, hem or back collar depending on the line.
Thirteen tees are in stock across four cuts: the classic logo tee, the boxy, the oversized, and the 1977 and 90s editions with their felt and sports-style lettering. Colours run from black ink and smoke grey through beige and white to sapphire and navy. Prices are in CAD and orders ship from inside Canada.

Every tee on this page uses the same heavyweight cotton jersey. What changes is the shape and where the logo sits. Pick the cut first, the colour second.
| Cut | How it fits | Logo | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Classic logo tee Logo Black, White FOG Logo, Navy Jersey |
Straight through the body, dropped shoulder, sits at the hip | Small rubberised logo on the chest, patch at the back collar | Everyday. The one to own in two colours. |
| Boxy Black Ink |
Wider and shorter. Square shoulders, hem lands above the pocket line | Tonal print, almost invisible from across the room | Over cargos or wide-leg sweatpants |
| Oversized Essentials Oversized |
Longer and roomier, shoulder seam drops to the bicep | Centre chest | Standalone look, or layered over a long-sleeve |
| 1977 edition Beige, Black, Grey, 1977 Cotton |
Same as classic, slightly heavier hand feel | Felt applique "1977" across the chest | When you want the tee to be the point of the outfit |
| 90s edition Dodgers Sapphire Blue, Smoke Gray, Yankees Black |
Classic fit | Sports-style arched lettering, front and back | Game day, summer weekends, anyone who likes a bit of colour |
Why the weight matters
A regular fashion tee weighs around 150 grams per square metre. These sit well above that. The difference is obvious the first time you put one on: the fabric hangs straight instead of clinging, the neckline keeps its shape through a wash cycle, and it doesn't go see-through in white or beige.
It also means these tees are a year-round piece in Canada, not a summer one. From October through April they're the base layer under an Essentials hoodie; in July they stand alone.
- Heavyweight 100% cotton jersey, pre-shrunk
- Rib-knit crewneck that recovers after stretching
- Double-needle stitching at hem and sleeves
- Rubberised collar patch replaces the scratchy neck label
- Garment-dyed colours with a slightly lived-in finish
Colour, in plain terms
Getting the size right
The classic and 1977 tees fit true to size with a relaxed drape. The boxy and oversized cuts are already roomy, so sizing up on those usually goes too far.
Classic, 1977 and 90s
Take your usual size. If you want it to sit a little closer across the chest, go one down. Length stays sensible either way.
Boxy
Stay true to size. It's cut short on purpose; sizing up adds width, not length, and the proportions go off.
Oversized
True to size for the intended look. Size down once if you're under 5'7" and want it to clear the thigh.
Wearing it under a hoodie?
Match the tee size to your hoodie size. A longer tee peeking a couple of centimetres below a cropped hoodie hem is the look the line is built around.
What to wear it with
The full set
Tee tucked loosely into Essentials sweatpants, hoodie open or over the shoulder, white trainers. Pick the tee one shade lighter than the pants so the layers separate.
Off the set
The 90s tees with straight denim and a varsity jacket. The boxy tee with pleated trousers and loafers. A black 1977 tee under a wool coat in January. None of these need the rest of the collection.
Care
- Cold wash, inside out, especially the 1977 felt and the 90s prints
- Hang to dry or tumble low; the collar rib is the first casualty of a hot dryer
- No fabric softener on the rubberised logos
- Fold, don't hang, to keep the dropped shoulders from stretching
Shipping and returns
Tees ship from our Canadian warehouse within [1–2] business days and usually arrive in [3–6] business days across the provinces. You have [30] days from delivery to return or exchange an unworn tee with tags on. Start a return through the contact page with your order number.
Before you order
Are Essentials t-shirts heavyweight?
Yes. They use a thick 100% cotton jersey that hangs straight and stays opaque in light colours. It's noticeably heavier than a standard fashion tee.
Do Essentials tees shrink?
The fabric is pre-shrunk, so a cold wash and low-heat dry keeps the size stable. A hot dryer can tighten the collar and shorten the body slightly, so avoid it.
What's the difference between the boxy and the oversized tee?
Boxy is wider and shorter with square shoulders. Oversized is longer and roomier with the shoulder seam dropping towards the bicep. Boxy suits wide trousers; oversized works on its own or layered.
Should I size up?
Not for the boxy or oversized cuts, which are already generous. For the classic, 1977 and 90s tees, take your usual size, or one down for a closer fit across the chest.
Can I wear these in a Canadian winter?
As a base layer, yes. The weight makes them warmer than a thin tee under a hoodie or coat, which is how most customers wear them from October to April.
Where do you ship from?
All orders are dispatched from within Canada, priced in CAD, with no import fees on delivery.
